About Master Lu Jun Hong

Master Lu Jun Hong is the Chairman of the Australia Oriental Media Buddhist Charity Association, President of 2OR Australia Oriental Radio and the Australian Chinese Buddhist Research Centre (ACBRC). For the past twenty years, he has been promoting traditional  Chinese culture, Buddhism and world peace. He is well-recognized as an “Ambassador for World Peace”, and a world-renowned Chinese spiritual leader in the field of Buddhism. Currently, there are more than 10 million people around the world following his Buddhist practice.

Master Lu has been invited to give talks on Buddhist teachings all over the world. By teaching the core values of Buddhism, he encourages people to renounce bad habits and do more good deeds so that a healthy state of mind can be attained. Over a hundred free public talks have been held in over 30 countries and regions, including major cities in Australia, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand, the U.K., France, Germany and Denmark. In June 2015, 40,000 people attended the event in Hong Kong. In January 2015, Master Lu’s talk in Malaysia received nationwide attention, as 50,000 people attended his Buddhist convention!

Master Lu has been dedicating himself to the cause of world peace. Not only does he teach people how to apply Buddhism in their daily life to attain a healthy state of body and mind, he also makes great effort to promote world peace. In 2013, Master Lu held a grand blessing ceremony to pray for world peace in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

As of today, over 10 million people from more than 30 countries and region follow Master Lu’s Buddhist practice. They have gained confidence, learned to be open-minded and empathetic towards people around them. Moreover, they are able to change their lives for the better, and attain a more peaceful state of mind after learning Buddhism.

International Recognition for His Contribution to World Peace

Master Lu was invited to give a public talk on Buddhism and Traditional Chinese culture at Harvard University in September 2012. In October 2012, Master Lu was presented with the “British Community Honors Award” in the House of Lords, U.K. In 2013, Master Lu received the “Award for Exceptional Contribution and Peace Advocacy to the Global Community” at the Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin, Germany. In March 2014, he was honored with the title of “Ambassador of Peace Education” at the United Nations headquarters in New York. He received the “World Ambassador for Peace Award” in the U.S. Congress, and then was awarded the status of Honorary Visiting Professor by the University of Siena in Italy. On 5th Feb 2015, the Sultan of Pahang conferred “Dato”, a Malaysian lifelong royal title, on Master Lu.

In May 2015, Master Lu received certificates of recognition for his contribution to world peace from six city councils in Los Angeles as well as the New York City Council. He also received the “Outstanding Achievement Award” for his contribution to the culture of peace at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. Shortly after, Master Lu was invited to attend the 12th International Buddhist Conference on the United Nations Day of Vesak in Thailand.

Devotion to Charity Work and Cause of World Peace

Australian Oriental Radio (2OR) was established in 2007 and is the one of the major Chinese language media in Australia. Master Lu Jun Hong is the President and Director of 2OR, whose aim is to help listeners around the world to learn more about Chinese culture and Buddhism via its radio programs and online radio service. It strives to promote world peace by spreading the Buddha’s teachings. Master Lu’s radio programs are very popular and have attracted millions of listeners around the world. These well-received radio programs help listeners practice Buddhism more effectively, so that they can change their lives for the better.

To further promote Buddhism and world peace, Master Lu Jun Hong established the Australian Chinese Buddhist Research Centre (ACBRC) in 2011 and has been the President since then. Master Lu’s Buddhist practice is founded on the core values of Buddhism — loving kindness and compassion. He encourages people to devote themselves to charitable activities and the spread of Buddhism, to renounce bad habits and do more good deeds, and to care for the elderly and those in need, so that we all can change our lives for the better and make contributions to a more peaceful world!

The Australia Oriental Media Buddhist Charity Association, a charitable organization registered with the Australian Government, has affiliations in places such as Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and the USA. It is dedicated to charitable activities and the spread of traditional Chinese culture and Buddhism. It has been raising money to support disaster relief efforts around the globe, and the children and people with disabilities since its establishment.
